By using Nautiq, you agree to follow these rules. We may remove content or restrict accounts that violate them.
1) Respectful communication
- Be kind and constructive. Disagree with ideas, not people.
- No harassment, bullying, hate speech, or threats.
- No doxxing (sharing someone’s private information) or encouraging others to do so.
2) Keep it relevant to boating & repairs
- Posts should be about repairs, maintenance, troubleshooting, tools, parts, and seamanship-related technical topics.
- Use the most accurate category and add clear titles and photos when possible.
- Avoid low-effort spam posts (e.g., repeated “help!!!” without details).
3) Safety rules (very important)
Safety first: Boats, electricity, fuels, pressure systems, and rigging can seriously injure or kill.
If you’re unsure, consult a qualified professional.
- Do not post instructions that encourage reckless or dangerous actions.
- Clearly label high-risk content (e.g., “high voltage”, “gas system”, “engine running”, “working aloft”).
- Never encourage bypassing safety devices (fuses, breakers, gas regulators, ventilation requirements, etc.).
- If you share a method that worked for you, explain conditions, tools, and risks.
4) Accuracy & responsibility
- Share what you know, but don’t present guesses as facts.
- If you’re not sure, say so (“I’m not certain—please verify”).
- Cite manuals, manufacturer guidance, or standards when relevant.
Nautiq does not guarantee the correctness of user posts. You are responsible for your own actions and decisions.
5) No illegal or harmful content
- No instructions or content that facilitate wrongdoing (theft, sabotage, fraud, bypassing locks/trackers, etc.).
- No content that promotes violence, self-harm, or dangerous illegal activity.
- No buying/selling of prohibited items or services.
6) Photos, media, and privacy
- Only upload content you have the right to share (your own photos/videos, or content you’re licensed to use).
- Blur or remove sensitive details (registration numbers, precise locations, faces) if you don’t have consent.
- No posting private conversations or personal data without permission.
7) No spam, scams, or manipulation
- No spam, repetitive promotions, engagement-bait, or misleading links.
- No impersonation, fake accounts, or coordinated manipulation.
- Affiliate links and ads must be clearly disclosed where required by law.
8) Commercial posts & marketplace behavior
- Keep promotions limited and relevant (tools, parts, services) and be transparent about affiliations.
- No deceptive pricing, bait-and-switch, or pressure tactics.
- If Nautiq offers separate marketplace features later, additional rules may apply.
9) Moderation & enforcement
- We may remove content that violates these rules or creates risk for the community.
- Enforcement can include warnings, content removal, temporary restrictions, or account bans.
- Serious violations may be reported to relevant authorities where required by law.
10) How to report something
- Use the in-app report function on a post/comment/profile when you see a rule violation.
- If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
- Optional: Add your support email here (e.g., support@nautiq.app) for reporting.
Emergency note: Nautiq is not an emergency service. For urgent safety incidents at sea,
contact the appropriate coast guard / maritime rescue services.
